Micromax Funbook Talk P350 Review

Old Hardware in A New Casing!Micromax Funbook Talk P350 comes at a price point of Rs. 7,500 and provides nearly the same features that you’ll find in the original Funbook.

 Is it worth the price?

Find out in our quick review: Alright, let’s do one thing – just forget the changed design and a few new connectivity options (like voice calling over in-built 2G network, GPRS and Bluetooth). Now compare the specs sheet of Funbook Talk P350 with the specs sheet of original (and very first) Funbook P300.

What else has changed?

I think nothing much. Funbook P350 comes at a price point of Rs. 7,249 but unfortunately provides the same hardware that we see on the very first Funbook tablet. And I would like to tell you that original Funbook costs less than 5000 bucks at this moment. So, is a price hike of Rs. 2,500 fine for connectivity options and changed design only? In my opinion, it isn’t! Pros:Stylish designLighter in weightCons:Outdated OSSlower processor Less RAM Doesn’t provide value for moneyKey

 Features

Operating System: It’s sad that this tablet is running on a very outdated OS – Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. It works slowly as compared to ICS 4.0.4 and it would be better if we don’t compare it with Jelly Bean. There aren’t any hopes for updates too.
Display: Display is the familiar 7-inch TFT-LCD panel with 800×480 px resolution. Needless to say that it’s a low resolution for this much large screen. But it’s fine for viewing multimedia content. However, if you’ve used mobile devices with higher display resolutions in the past then you’ll feel the difference and will be disappointed.
Camera: Just like the original Funbook this one too has nothing on the name of rear-facing camera. There’s only a 0.3 megapixel front-facer that’s just fine for doing video calls.
Processor: AWT A10 1GHz processor powers this slate. Not even 1.2 GHz, sadly. This results in slower performance and poor gaming experience.
Storage: Funbook Talk P350 comes with 512MB RAM and 2GB internal storage. 1GB separate internal storage is also available for apps. Expandable storage is up to 32GB. Battery Life: No surprises here too.
Funbook P350 comes with 2800 mAh battery and promises a standby time of 112 hours and browsing time of 5 hours. Multimedia and Apps: M! Store, Google Tribe, Google Maps and YouTube come pre-installed on this slate.
For more apps you can easily head over to Google Play Store.

Special Features Nothing so special here except voice calling feature. However, other Micromax slates already have this functionality and provide even better features for the same price. Finally I’m bound to say that Micromax packed the old hardware of original Funbook P300 in the new casing and presented it before us under a new name.
Nothing much has been changed and nothing new exists in this tab that draws attention except voice calling. If you want a tablet in the same price range that provides even better functionality along with voice calling facility then I highly recommend Funbook Talk P362 to you.
